Efficiency card
Who it’s for
Plant operators, maintenance engineers, and energy managers ask “what is the current efficiency level for this asset and how is it performing?” They need a single-value card that communicates performance status at a glance.
What it does
A device reporting efficiency = 75% renders the current value in a card color-coded by performance level: red for Low (below 40%), orange for Moderate (40–60%), green for Good (60–80%), and blue for Excellent (above 80%).
- Live efficiency reading in % with color coding across four performance bands
- Color-coded icon and value make the performance level immediately visible
- Shows one asset’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different machines side by side
How to set up
Data keys
| Key | Role | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
efficiency | Main value | Timeseries | Efficiency percentage (0–100); change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key |
The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Efficiency, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.
To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.
Value ranges
| Range | Level | Color |
|---|---|---|
| 0–40 | Low | Red |
| 40–60 | Moderate | Orange |
| 60–80 | Good | Green |
| 80+ | Excellent | Blue |
How to customize
- To change the performance thresholds — edit Icon color ranges and Value color ranges; set the same boundaries in both so the icon and the number always agree.
- To change the card colors — edit the color for each performance band in the widget settings.
- To rename the units label — change the Units field in the widget settings if needed.
Tips
- Place one card per production unit on a plant-floor overview screen so operators can scan efficiency status across all machines without drilling into individual dashboards.
- A red or orange card is an actionable signal — pair this widget with an alarm rule on the same key so the card color and the alarm list stay in sync.
- Use consistent performance colors across all efficiency widgets.
