Who it’s for

Plant operators, maintenance engineers, and energy managers ask “what is the efficiency trend for this asset, what is the level right now, and how much has it changed?” They need a chart that shows current value, direction, and delta in a single card.

What it does

A device reporting efficiency = 75% renders a time-series trend line alongside the current value, a percentage delta from the previous period, and an absolute delta. The chart and values are color-coded by performance level: red for Low (below 40%), orange for Moderate (40–60%), green for Good (60–80%), and blue for Excellent (above 80%).

  • Time-series trend chart shows whether efficiency is stable, rising, or declining
  • Live efficiency reading in % with color coding across four performance bands
  • Delta percentage and absolute delta quantify how much efficiency has changed from the previous period
  • Shows one asset’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different machines side by side

How to set up

Data keys

KeyRoleTypeDescription
efficiencyChart seriesTimeseriesEfficiency percentage (0–100); change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key
LatestLatest valueTimeseriesThe headline figure above the chart. Its own color ranges are where the band colors are edited
Delta percentPercentage changeTimeseriesChange against the previous period, as a percentage
Delta absoluteAbsolute changeTimeseriesChange against the previous period, in the key’s own unit

The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Efficiency, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.

To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.

0–40LowRed
40–60ModerateOrange
60–80GoodGreen
80+ExcellentBlue

How to customize

  • To change the performance thresholds — edit the color ranges on the Latest data key.
  • To change the chart colors — edit the color of each range on the Latest data key.
  • To rename the units label — change the Units field in the widget settings if needed.

Tips

  • A negative delta alongside a Good reading is an early warning that the asset is drifting toward the Moderate band — act before the color changes rather than after.
  • Use the delta to distinguish a steady-state machine from one that is recovering after a maintenance stop: recovery shows a positive delta even while still in the orange band.
  • Pair with a vibration chart card on the same row for a two-variable predictive maintenance panel that fits side by side on most dashboard layouts.
