Who it’s for

Plant operators, maintenance engineers, and energy managers ask “can I see efficiency position within its operating range?” The background variant adds a full-card color signal for wall-mounted displays.

What it does

A device reporting efficiency = 75% renders a horizontal bar filled to 75% of the 0–100 range on a card whose entire background fills with the performance color: red for Low (below 40%), orange for Moderate (40–60%), green for Good (60–80%), and blue for Excellent (above 80%).

  • Full-card background color makes efficiency performance level readable across a room without reading the number
  • Horizontal progress bar shows position within the 0–100% operating range
  • Shows one asset’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different machines side by side

How to set up

Data keys

KeyRoleTypeDescription
efficiencyBar valueTimeseriesEfficiency percentage (0–100); change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key

The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Efficiency, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.

To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.

Value ranges

RangeLevelColor
0–40LowRed
40–60ModerateOrange
60–80GoodGreen
80–100ExcellentBlue

How to customize

  • To change the performance thresholds — open the widget settings and adjust the band boundaries.
  • To change the background colors — edit the background color for each performance band in the widget settings.
  • To rename the units label — change the Units field in the widget settings if needed.

Tips

  • On a control room wall display, the colored background announces performance status from across the room while the bar shows the exact fill level.
  • Use this card when the dashboard is viewed from a distance, such as a mounted monitor in a production hall or an operations center.
  • Use consistent performance colors across all efficiency widgets.
