Who it’s for

Plant operators, maintenance engineers, and energy managers ask “how full is this asset’s efficiency range right now, and which performance band does it fall in?” They need a bar that shows position within the operating range at a glance.

What it does

A device reporting efficiency = 75% renders a horizontal bar filled to 75% of the 0–100 range, with the fill color indicating performance level: red for Low (below 40%), orange for Moderate (40–60%), green for Good (60–80%), and blue for Excellent (above 80%).

  • Horizontal progress bar shows position within the 0–100% operating range
  • Color-coded fill indicates performance band without requiring the operator to read the number
  • Shows one asset’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different machines side by side

How to set up

Data keys

KeyRoleTypeDescription
efficiencyBar valueTimeseriesEfficiency percentage (0–100); change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key

The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Efficiency, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.

To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.

Value ranges

RangeLevelColor
0–40LowRed
40–60ModerateOrange
60–80GoodGreen
80–100ExcellentBlue

How to customize

  • To change the performance thresholds — open the widget settings and adjust the band boundaries.
  • To change the bar colors — edit the color for each performance band in the widget settings.
  • To rename the units label — change the Units field in the widget settings if needed.

Tips

  • Stack multiple progress bars vertically to compare efficiency across several machines on a single dashboard — the bar format is compact enough to fit 6–8 assets in a column without scrolling.
  • A bar near the Low–Moderate boundary at 40% is a predictive signal: if it has been declining for two consecutive readings, schedule a maintenance check before it drops further.
  • Pair with a vibration progress bar on the same row for a side-by-side two-variable view that highlights correlated degradation between efficiency and mechanical condition.
