Efficiency range chart with background
Who it’s for
Plant operators, maintenance engineers, and energy managers ask “can I see efficiency history against performance zones?” The background variant adds a full-card color signal for wall-mounted control room displays.
What it does
A device reporting efficiency = 75% renders a time-series area chart overlaid on horizontal color bands on a card whose entire background fills with the current performance color: red for Low (below 40%), orange for Moderate (40–60%), green for Good (60–80%), and blue for Excellent (above 80%).
- Full-card background color makes current efficiency performance level readable across a room without reading the number
- Color-banded area chart shows efficiency trend against performance zone boundaries simultaneously
- Data zoom slider lets operators focus on any time window within the displayed period
- Shows one asset’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different machines side by side
How to set up
Data keys
| Key | Role | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
efficiency | Chart series | Timeseries | Efficiency percentage (0–100); change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key |
The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Efficiency, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.
To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.
Value ranges
| Range | Level | Color |
|---|---|---|
| 0–40 | Low | Red |
| 40–60 | Moderate | Orange |
| 60–80 | Good | Green |
| 80–100 | Excellent | Blue |
How to customize
- To change the performance thresholds — open the widget settings and adjust the band boundaries.
- To change the background and band colors — edit the color for each performance band in the widget settings.
- To rename the units label — change the Units field in the widget settings if needed.
Tips
- On a control room wall display, the colored background announces the current performance status from across the room while the banded chart tells the story of how the asset got there.
- Use this card on a large monitor dedicated to a single production line where trend history and current status must both be legible from a standing position.
- Use consistent performance colors across all efficiency widgets.
