Pressure card
Who it’s for
Process engineers, plant operators, and maintenance technicians ask “what is the current fluid pressure in this line and is it within safe operating limits?” They need a single-value card that communicates pressure status at a glance.
What it does
A device reporting pressure = 8 bar renders the current value in a card color-coded by operating level: blue for Low (below 5 bar), green for Normal (5–10 bar), orange for Elevated (10–15 bar), and red for High (above 15 bar).
- Live pressure reading in bar with color coding across four operating bands
- Color-coded icon and value make the pressure level immediately visible
- Shows one sensor’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different lines or vessels side by side
How to set up
Data keys
| Key | Role | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
pressure | Main value | Timeseries | Fluid pressure in bar; change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key |
The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Pressure, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.
To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.
Value ranges
| Range (bar) | Level | Color |
|---|---|---|
| 0–5 | Low | Blue |
| 5–10 | Normal | Green |
| 10–15 | Elevated | Orange |
| 15+ | High | Red |
How to customize
- To change the operating thresholds — edit Icon color ranges and Value color ranges; set the same boundaries in both so the icon and the number always agree.
- To change the card colors — edit the color for each operating band in the widget settings.
- To change the units — change the Units field in the widget settings to match your pressure sensor’s output (e.g., PSI, kPa).
Tips
- Place one card per pressure sensor on a process overview screen so operators can scan all pressure points without drilling into individual asset dashboards.
- A red card (High) indicates over-pressure conditions that require immediate intervention — combine this widget with an alarm rule to alert operators before safety limits are breached.
- Use consistent operating colors across all fluid pressure widgets.
