Pressure chart card with background
Who it’s for
Process engineers, plant operators, and maintenance technicians ask “can I see pressure trend and operating status at a glance?” The background variant combines a trend chart with a full-card color signal for wall-mounted control room displays.
What it does
A device reporting pressure = 8 bar renders a time-series trend line, the current value, and delta figures on a card whose entire background fills with the operating level color: blue for Low (below 5 bar), green for Normal (5–10 bar), orange for Elevated (10–15 bar), and red for High (above 15 bar).
- Full-card background color makes fluid pressure operating level readable across a room without reading the number
- Time-series trend chart shows whether pressure is stable, rising, or declining
- Delta percentage and absolute delta quantify how much pressure has changed from the previous period
- Shows one sensor’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different lines or vessels side by side
How to set up
Data keys
| Key | Role | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
pressure | Chart series | Timeseries | Fluid pressure in bar; change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key |
| Latest | Latest value | Timeseries | The headline figure above the chart. Its own color ranges are where the band colors are edited |
| Delta percent | Percentage change | Timeseries | Change against the previous period, as a percentage |
| Delta absolute | Absolute change | Timeseries | Change against the previous period, in the key’s own unit |
The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Pressure, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.
To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.
Value ranges
| Range (bar) | Level | Color |
|---|---|---|
| 0–5 | Low | Blue |
| 5–10 | Normal | Green |
| 10–15 | Elevated | Orange |
| 15+ | High | Red |
How to customize
- To change the operating thresholds — edit the color ranges on the Latest data key.
- To change the background colors — edit the color of each range on the Latest data key.
- To change the units — change the Units field in the widget settings to match your pressure sensor’s output.
Tips
- On a control room wall display, the colored background announces current pressure status from across the room while the trend chart shows whether the system is stable or escalating.
- Use this card when you need both a trend signal and at-a-glance status in a visually prominent format — for example, one card per pressurized segment on a piping overview screen.
- Use consistent operating colors across all fluid pressure widgets.
