Horizontal flow rate card
Who it’s for
Process engineers, plant operators, and maintenance technicians ask “what is the current flow rate for this line in a compact, row-friendly layout?” They need a single-value card that fits more assets across the same dashboard width.
What it does
A device reporting flowRate = 22 m³/hr renders the current value in a compact horizontal card color-coded by operating level: blue for Low (below 10 m³/hr), green for Normal (10–30 m³/hr), orange for Elevated (30–50 m³/hr), and red for High (above 50 m³/hr).
- Compact horizontal layout fits more pipes or pumps per row than the standard card
- Live flow rate reading in m³/hr with color coding across four operating bands
- Shows one sensor’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different pipes or pumps side by side
How to set up
Data keys
| Key | Role | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
flowRate | Main value | Timeseries | Flow rate in m³/hr; change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key |
The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Flow rate, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.
To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.
Value ranges
| Range (m³/hr) | Level | Color |
|---|---|---|
| 0–10 | Low | Blue |
| 10–30 | Normal | Green |
| 30–50 | Elevated | Orange |
| 50+ | High | Red |
How to customize
- To change the operating thresholds — edit Icon color ranges and Value color ranges; set the same boundaries in both so the icon and the number always agree.
- To change the card colors — edit the color for each operating band in the widget settings.
- To change the units — change the Units field in the widget settings to match your flow meter’s output.
Tips
- The horizontal card fits twice as many sensors per row as the standard card — use it for a plant-wide flow overview where screen space is limited.
- Stack horizontal flow rate and fluid pressure cards in alternating rows to create a compact hydraulic state panel for each pipeline segment.
- Use consistent operating colors across all flow rate widgets.
