Horizontal vibration card with background
Who it’s for
Maintenance engineers, reliability technicians, and plant operators ask “can I see vibration severity in a compact row layout?” The background variant adds a full-card color signal while keeping the compact horizontal footprint.
What it does
A device reporting vibration = 2.1 mm/s renders the current value in a compact horizontal card whose entire background fills with the severity level color: green for Good (below 2.8 mm/s), orange for Moderate (2.8–4.5 mm/s), dark orange for Elevated (4.5–7.1 mm/s), and red for High (above 7.1 mm/s).
- Full-card background color makes vibration severity level readable across a room without reading the number
- Compact horizontal layout fits more pumps or motors per row than the standard card
- Shows one asset’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different pumps or motors side by side
How to set up
Data keys
| Key | Role | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
vibration | Main value | Timeseries | Vibration velocity in mm/s; change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key |
The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Vibration, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.
To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.
Value ranges
| Range (mm/s) | Level | Color |
|---|---|---|
| 0–2.8 | Good | Green |
| 2.8–4.5 | Moderate | Orange |
| 4.5–7.1 | Elevated | Dark Orange |
| 7.1+ | High | Red |
How to customize
- To change the severity thresholds — edit Icon color ranges and Value color ranges; set the same boundaries in both so the icon and the number always agree.
- To change the background colors — edit the background color for each severity band in the widget settings.
- To rename the units label — change the Units field in the widget settings if needed.
Tips
- On a maintenance center wall display, the colored background announces machine condition from across the room while the horizontal format lets more assets fit in view simultaneously.
- Use this card when you need both a strong visual severity signal and a dense multi-machine layout — for example, two rows of horizontal background cards covering all pumps in a pump hall.
- Use consistent severity colors across all vibration widgets.
