Indoor horizontal humidity card
Who it’s for
Facility managers, HVAC engineers, and building managers ask “what is the humidity in this space right now?” They need a compact, space-efficient card that fits into multi-room overview dashboards without dominating the layout.
What it does
A sensor reporting humidity = 45% displays the reading in a horizontal card whose label and value sit side by side, color-coded by comfort band: orange for Low (0–30%), green for Comfortable (30–60%), and red for High (above 60%).
- Horizontal layout fits more rooms per row on a multi-zone indoor environment dashboard
- Live humidity reading in % with automatic color coding across three comfort bands
- Shows one sensor’s reading per widget; tile multiple widgets to monitor all rooms at a glance
How to set up
Data keys
| Key | Role | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
humidity | Main value | Timeseries | Relative humidity in %; change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key |
The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Humidity, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.
To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.
Value ranges
| Range (%) | Level | Color |
|---|---|---|
| 0–30 | Low | Orange |
| 30–60 | Comfortable | Green |
| 60+ | High | Red |
How to customize
- To change the comfort thresholds — edit Icon color ranges and Value color ranges; set the same boundaries in both so the icon and the number always agree.
- To change the band colors — edit the color for each comfort level in the widget settings.
- To rename the units label — change the Units field in the widget settings if needed.
Tips
- Use the horizontal layout to fit more rooms per row when building a whole-floor humidity overview; pair with the standard card for problem zones that warrant closer monitoring.
- Placing horizontal cards for humidity and temperature side by side on the same row lets facility staff quickly identify rooms where both parameters are outside the comfortable zone simultaneously.
- In server rooms or archives where humidity control is critical, a row of horizontal humidity cards across all monitored spaces provides an instant multi-zone status check.
