Who it’s for

Maintenance engineers, reliability technicians, and plant operators ask “what is the current vibration level for this pump and is it within safe operating limits?” They need a single-value card that communicates mechanical condition at a glance.

What it does

A device reporting vibration = 2.1 mm/s renders the current value in a card color-coded by ISO 10816 severity level: green for Good (below 2.8 mm/s), orange for Moderate (2.8–4.5 mm/s), dark orange for Elevated (4.5–7.1 mm/s), and red for High (above 7.1 mm/s).

  • Live vibration reading in mm/s with color coding across four ISO 10816 severity bands
  • Color-coded icon and value make the mechanical condition immediately visible
  • Shows one asset’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different pumps or motors side by side

How to set up

Data keys

KeyRoleTypeDescription
vibrationMain valueTimeseriesVibration velocity in mm/s; change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key

The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Vibration, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.

To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.

Value ranges

Range (mm/s)LevelColor
0–2.8GoodGreen
2.8–4.5ModerateOrange
4.5–7.1ElevatedDark Orange
7.1+HighRed

How to customize

  • To change the severity thresholds — edit Icon color ranges and Value color ranges; set the same boundaries in both so the icon and the number always agree.
  • To change the card colors — edit the color for each severity band in the widget settings.
  • To rename the units label — change the Units field in the widget settings if your sensor reports in different units (e.g., g, in/s).

Tips

  • Place one card per pump or motor on a predictive maintenance overview screen so technicians can scan all machines for vibration anomalies in a single view.
  • A card that moves from green to orange between two readings is a stronger signal than an already-orange reading that has stayed stable — the change rate matters as much as the absolute level.
  • Pair with an efficiency card on the same row to correlate rising vibration with declining efficiency, a pattern that often indicates bearing wear or impeller damage.
