Who it’s for

Plant operators, maintenance engineers, and energy managers ask “what is the efficiency trend for this asset and what is the level right now?” They need a compact chart that combines trend and current reading in the smallest possible footprint.

What it does

A device reporting efficiency = 75% renders a compact sparkline-style trend line and the current value together in a single card, color-coded by performance level: red for Low (below 40%), orange for Moderate (40–60%), green for Good (60–80%), and blue for Excellent (above 80%).

  • Compact sparkline chart shows efficiency direction at a glance without occupying the space of a full chart card
  • Live efficiency reading in % with color coding across four performance bands
  • Shows one asset’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different machines side by side

How to set up

Data keys

KeyRoleTypeDescription
efficiencyChart seriesTimeseriesEfficiency percentage (0–100); change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key
LatestLatest valueTimeseriesThe headline figure above the chart. Its own color ranges are where the band colors are edited

The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Efficiency, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.

To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.

How to customize

  • To change the performance thresholds — edit the color ranges on the Latest data key.
  • To change the chart colors — edit the color of each range on the Latest data key.
  • To rename the units label — change the Units field in the widget settings if needed.

Tips

  • The simple chart card fits more machines per row than the full chart card — use it for a plant-wide efficiency overview where you only need trend direction and current value, not delta percentages.
  • A declining sparkline alongside a Good reading is an early warning that the asset is moving toward the Moderate band — a useful prompt for a preemptive maintenance check before efficiency visibly drops.
  • Pair with a vibration simple chart card on the same row for a two-variable predictive maintenance panel that fits twice as many assets on screen as the full chart cards.
