Simple pressure chart card
Who it’s for
Process engineers, plant operators, and maintenance technicians ask “what is the pressure trend for this line and what is the level right now?” They need a compact chart that combines trend and current reading in the smallest possible footprint.
What it does
A device reporting pressure = 8 bar renders a compact sparkline-style trend line and the current value together in a single card, color-coded by operating level: blue for Low (below 5 bar), green for Normal (5–10 bar), orange for Elevated (10–15 bar), and red for High (above 15 bar).
- Compact sparkline chart shows pressure direction at a glance without occupying the space of a full chart card
- Live pressure reading in bar with color coding across four operating bands
- Shows one sensor’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different lines or vessels side by side
How to set up
Data keys
| Key | Role | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
pressure | Chart series | Timeseries | Fluid pressure in bar; change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key |
| Latest | Latest value | Timeseries | The headline figure above the chart. Its own color ranges are where the band colors are edited |
The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Pressure, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.
To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.
Value ranges
| Range (bar) | Level | Color |
|---|---|---|
| 0–5 | Low | Blue |
| 5–10 | Normal | Green |
| 10–15 | Elevated | Orange |
| 15+ | High | Red |
How to customize
- To change the operating thresholds — edit the color ranges on the Latest data key.
- To change the chart colors — edit the color of each range on the Latest data key.
- To change the units — change the Units field in the widget settings to match your pressure sensor’s output.
Tips
- The simple chart card fits more sensors per row than the full chart card — use it for a process-wide pressure overview where you only need trend direction and current value, not delta percentages.
- A rising sparkline alongside a Normal reading is an early warning that pressure is moving toward the Elevated band — a useful prompt for investigating the cause before safety limits are approached.
- Pair with a flow rate simple chart card on the same row for a two-variable hydraulic panel that fits twice as many pipeline segments on screen as the full chart cards.
