Who it’s for

Process engineers, plant operators, and maintenance technicians ask “where does the current pressure sit on the full operating scale, and which zone is it in?” They need a gauge that shows absolute position within the operating range, not just a number.

What it does

A device reporting pressure = 8 bar renders a radial gauge with the needle pointing to 8 on a 0–24 bar arc divided into colored zones: blue for Low (0–5 bar), green for Normal (5–10 bar), orange for Elevated (10–15 bar), and red for High (15–24 bar).

  • Radial gauge shows position within the 0–24 bar operating range at a glance
  • Color-coded arc zones let operators read the operating band without checking thresholds
  • Shows one sensor’s data per widget; add multiple widgets to monitor different lines or vessels side by side

How to set up

Data keys

KeyRoleTypeDescription
pressureGauge valueTimeseriesFluid pressure in bar; change the key name to match your device’s telemetry key

The widget ships with a simulated function datasource key labeled Flow rate, so it draws random values until you point the datasource at a device and rename the key.

To point it at your own device: open the dashboard in edit mode, open the widget’s Datasources, pick the entity or entity alias, and replace the function key with the key your device reports.

How to customize

  • To change the gauge range — open the widget settings and adjust the minimum and maximum values to match your system’s full-scale pressure range.
  • To change the zone boundaries — adjust the band thresholds in the widget settings.
  • To change the zone colors — edit the color for each operating band in the widget settings.

Tips

  • Set the gauge maximum to the relief valve setpoint or design pressure of the system — this puts the red zone at the threshold that actually matters for safety rather than an arbitrary number.
  • The radial gauge format works well on large monitoring screens where operators need to read pressure status across the room; the needle position is visible from a greater distance than a numeric card.
  • Pair with a flow rate gauge on the same row to show the hydraulic state of a pipeline segment — pressure and flow together reveal whether a pump is running efficiently or a restriction is developing.
