Perpetual Fallback License

A perpetual fallback license is a one-time purchase that lets you run a specific ThingsBoard version on your own infrastructure indefinitely, without a subscription. It includes one year of software updates. After that, you can buy updates for each following year at a discounted fee.

Choose a perpetual license if:

• your security policy requires an isolated, on-premises, or offline deployment;
• you prefer a one-time capital expense to recurring fees;
• you need a license tailored to your deployment.

Sign in to the License Portal (or register). Then:

1. Go to Perpetual licenses and click Add Perpetual License (+).
2. Choose product — select ThingsBoard.
3. Choose license package — select a package and review what it includes.
4. Customize — add devices, production instances (for clustering and high availability), AI credits, Remote Agents, and the Edge Computing, Trendz Analytics, or Offline Mode add-ons. The Calculation summary shows the total price.
5. Order summary — review the licensee details and the order, enter a coupon if you have one, accept the ThingsBoard License Agreement, and click Create perpetual license. Add a card if you have no saved payment method.
6. Copy the license secret shown after the license is created.

If your account has no billing information, the wizard adds a Billing info step before Order summary. To add billing details in advance, see Billing info.

The Perpetual licenses page lists your licenses with their package, production and development instance counts, status, and the end of the software updates period.

To show canceled licenses, turn on Display canceled subscriptions.
